Convicted sex offender registers permanent address in The Villages

A convicted sex offender has registered a permanent address in The Villages.

Anthony Joseph Ali, 42, was convicted in 1997 on a charge of lewd assault/sexual battery of a victim under the age of 16 in Hernando County. In addition, Ali had been arrested this past July by the Tallahassee Police Department for failure to register his address.

Ali on Thursday registered an address at 1981 Chesapeake Place in the Sawgrass Villas in the Village of St. James, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The villa is owned by a woman who lives in Bloomfield, Conn.

Ali stands 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds, according to FDLE. He has tattoos on his left shoulder and right arm.

He has four registered vehicles – a green 1993 Ford two-door, a beige 1976 Pontiac two-door, a green 1996 Cadillac four-door and a white 1987 Chevrolet station wagon.
