Nick Elieff

Nick Elieff, age 83, of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2020. He lived in The Villages for 23 years and was formally from Valparaiso, IN. Nick was born on May 26, 1936 in Gary, IN to George and Eva Elieff. He was a Navy Veteran and retired from US Steel with 33 years of service. He drove The Villages Trolley for over 5 years.

A lifelong sports fan and participant, Nick played varsity basketball at Froebel High School, independent softball, mush ball, basketball, etc. for many years. He was an avid Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Indiana University basketball fan. Retiring to The Villages was the perfect place to enjoy his passions. He pitched in the baseball leagues, bowled on numerous leagues, played golf and swam. Almost any morning he could be found at Hacienda Hills Country Club with the “Gang” enjoying a cold “brewski”.

Preceded in death by parents; son Nicholas; brothers George and Jim Elieff.

Survived by his loving wife Linda (nee Blaney) Elieff of 55 years; daughters Susan (Greg) Dawson of Niles, MI; Laura (Jeremy) Martin of Melbourne, FL; brothers John (Sarah), Don (Sharon) Elieff and Steve (Joanne) Yordan, all of Arizona; Sisters-in-law Dorythe Earl of Hobart and Frances Blaney of Valparaiso, IN; Nieces and Nephews; Dear friends John Kuhn and Lou Straw, of The Villages; Best Man Andrew and Maid of Honor, Fran Sakes of Merrillville, IN.

No public services, per his request. His cremains will be buried in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN when permitted.
