Members of Temple Shalom’s Social Action Committee have been conducting a gift card food relief drive this month.

Rabbi Zev Sonnenstein of Temple Shalom presents a donation to Karen Lambert, director of the Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties.

The group collected approximately $5,000. Rabbi Zev Sonnenstein and the committee members delivered the gift cards to Community of Gratitude in Ocklawaha, Saint Theresa’s food pantry in Belleview and the Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties.

Temple Shalom has been supporting the Wildwood Food Pantry on an ongoing basis with a regular food collection drive and as a host of Seeds of Hope concerts. The group also has donated to the Haven for several years.

Linda Kadefer, director of Community of Gratitude in Ocklawaha, speaks with Rabbi Zev Sonnenstein and Reva Ceader of Temple Shalom. Ceader also volunteers at the food pantry.
