Sharlene Stargel Andersen

Sharlene Andersen

Sharlene Stargel Andersen passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 19, 2020.

Born on February 6, 1953, in Oakland, CA, Sharlene moved around frequently with her family since her father was in the US Navy. Having lived in Hawaii, Morocco, New York, and Georgia, the family finally settled in Millington, TN, where she attended Millington High School (’71). She then went on to attend the dental hygiene program at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis, TN.

Sharlene met her husband, Richard Andersen, in Memphis when they worked in the same office building, and went on to have two girls (Rachel and Renae). Sharlene lived a full and vibrant life. She was passionate about her career in dental hygiene, and fiercely loved her family, friends, and pets. Sharlene and Rick moved down to the Villages, FL, permanently in 2016. She was very active in her community in the Villages, participating in golf, shuffleboard, water aerobics, and Bible study. She enjoyed working on the landscaping in her yard and had a very green thumb. Sharlene lit up any room that she walked into and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Sharlene was predeceased by her mother, Eldalene Stargel, and her father, Ivan Stargel. She leaves behind her husband, Richard Andersen, her daughters, Rachel Andersen (Jonathan) and Renae Palguta (Jason), brother, Daryl Stargel (Lori) and family, grandsons, Tristan and Tanner Striklin, brother-in-law Dale Andersen (Delia), and sister-in-law Barbara Rosgen (Reinhart).

The memorial service is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and friends and family will be notified of plans for a celebration of life when it is safe to gather. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Florida SPCA or a charity of your choice.
