A vehicle fire shut down traffic Wednesday afternoon on Florida’s Turnpike near The Villages.
A pickup truck towing a U-Haul trailer was traveling southbound near a golf cart bridge in The Villages when it began experiencing mechanical issues, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck was completely incinerated in the blaze, while the U-Haul trailer was largely undamaged.
The Villages Public Safety Department responded to the scene and put out the fire, which created a large plume of smoke in the area.
There were no injuries, according to FHP.
