A Summerfield man who was known to have a suspended license was jailed Thursday after a Marion County sheriff’s deputy stopped him in the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie grocery store in Belleview.

The sheriff’s sergeant spotted 36-year-old Dustin Jeffrey Lynn driving his gray pickup truck at the intersection of S.E. 110th Street and S.E. Baseline Road. A second sheriff’s deputy arrived and detained Lynn. A computer check showed that his license had numerous suspensions dating back to November 2011, when he was arrested for fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers.

The records check also showed that Lynn had two convictions for driving while license suspended or revoked. One was from July 25, 2019 and the other was from Oct. 23, 2007. Lynn also was convicted on the fleeing and eluding charge on Feb. 2, 2011, records show.

Lynn, who lives in the 7000 block of S.E. 70th Court in Summerfield, was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with driving while license suspended or revoked (third or subsequent offense). He was being held on $2,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.
