Oxford woman arrested with stolen merchandise in purse at Walmart at Buffalo Ridge

An Oxford woman was arrested with stolen merchandise tucked in her purse as she attempted to leave the Walmart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.

Kimberly Lanet Patterson, 38, was found Friday afternoon with $262 worth of merchandise in her purse and in a backpack taken from the store, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The stolen merchandise included phone cases, baby formula, a speaker and boys’ shorts.

Patterson, who has a long criminal history, was arrested on a charge of theft. She was booked on $500 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
