UF Health-The Villages Hospital welcomes new chief clinical officer

University of Florida Health has welcomed Cheryl Chestnutt as the vice president, chief clinical officer and site administrator at UF Health-The Villages Hospital.

“I am so pleased that Cheryl has made the choice to join the UF Health family in this key position,” said Heather Long, chief operating officer for UF Health Central Florida. “Her dynamic nursing and clinical leadership experience will advance the culture of excellence at UF Health The Villages Hospital as we continue to expand our service offerings to meet the growing needs of residents in this vibrant area.”

In her role, Chestnutt will assume operational responsibility for all clinical, ancillary and administrative services at UF Health-The Villages Hospital. She will serve as a leader in the areas of clinical practice, care and capacity management, and regulatory compliance. Chestnutt will work to implement process improvement initiatives, strengthen multidisciplinary team collaboration, and boost overall team engagement.

Prior to joining UF Health, she served in a variety of clinical leadership positions for several hospitals and integrated health systems, including Summerlin Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and AdventHealth Orlando. Chestnutt is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College and nearing completion of a Master of Business Administration program through the University of Phoenix. In addition to being certified in Lean Six Sigma methodology and leadership training facilitation, Chestnutt is active with a number of professional organizations, including the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
