George E Spitz, age 87, passed away peacefully on Nov 4, 2021 with loved ones by his side. Born Sep 10, 1934, in Griffith, Indiana. He was a graduate of Ball State University where he met his wife, Joyce Johns, they settled back in Griffith where he raised his family and spent his working career at Spitz & Miller Insurance Agency. They started visits to The Villages in 1990 and then moved permanently in 2000. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, dancing, fishing and playing his piano, adding golf, dominoes, and water volleyball after his move to The Villages. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, on April 1, 2009. He is survived by his partner of the past 10 years, Mary Couch, his 4 daughters and their husbands, 3 sons and their wives, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
George and Joyce will be interred at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Ocala, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm December 13, 2021 at Trinity Springs, 12120 County Road 103, Oxford, Florida 34484.
