A Summerfield domestic battery suspect attempted to head butt a deputy during an arrest.
Deputies responded Monday to the home of 39-year-old Larry Duane Radney to investigate a domestic disturbance, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. A woman told deputies that an argument had escalated to the point that Radney struck her head with his fist. She had suffered swelling and bruising on the right side of her face.
When deputies attempted to take Radney into custody, he pulled away. He tried to head butt and kick one of the deputies. Radney was put into the back of a patrol car and immediately began kicking the door of the vehicle. He caused damage to the window and the rubber seal around the door. Damage was estimated at $1,100.
The Georgia native was arrested on charges of assault of a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to property, resisting arrest and battery. He was booked at the Marion County Jail and released after posting $23,000 bond.
