Thomas Anthony Hickey was born September 9, 1951, in New York, NY, and passed away December 12, 2022, at home. Tommy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed.
Charming and gregarious, warm and welcoming, Tommy lived large and passionately. Whether traveling to games for his beloved Yankees, meeting up with his crew for fantasy baseball or going to live music events to see his favorite bands (Tower of Power), Tommy was always happy to be a part of it. With his smile and laughter, Tommy made friends everywhere – modeling kimonos in China, drinking beers at the local pub in Ireland or showing off his impressive hat collection at local events. His hobbies and interests were wide-ranging and he shared his love of single malt scotch whiskey, chocolate, baseball memorabilia and Broadway shows with his circle.
His sons, Sean and Ryan, were his pride and joy and he was thrilled at the birth of his grandson, Dean. Tommy also enjoyed a special relationship with his brother, Patrick, and was able to celebrate his milestone birthday with him earlier this year. Reunited with his high school sweetheart Arleane 11 years ago, Tommy was able to enjoy a new phase of his life filled with travel and adventure. They moved to The Villages in Florida three years ago and were warmly embraced by a tight-knit and friendly community that Tommy enjoyed.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Arleane; son Sean; son Ryan and his wife, Yvette, and grandson Dean; and brother Patrick; along with an army of cousins and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in Tommy’s honor on Friday, December 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society.
