Law enforcement investigating a report of a burglary found a man wanted on a warrant in connection with a 2022 car chase which began at Del Webb Spruce Creek in Summerfield.

Frank Carmen Cirullo Jr., 29, of Summerfield, was found at a residence in Ocklawaha on Tuesday by Marion County sheriff’s deputies investigating a reported residential burglary. Cirullo provided deputies with a false name and false date of birth, later admitting that he was aware he was wanted on a warrant and did not want to go to jail.

The warrant had been issued in September after an Aug. 28 chase in which Cirullo ran a red light in an attempt to outrun a deputy whose squad car had its lights and sirens activated. At the time, the deputy stopped the chase out of concern for public safety.

At the time of that pursuit, Cirullo was already classified as a habitual offender.

In 2020, Cirullo was arrested after leading law enforcement on another high-speed chase.
