A Lady Lake woman claimed she had “no idea” her license was suspended when she was pulled over by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy.

Aissa Arias, 32, who lives in The Quarters apartments, was driving a blue four-door sedan with an expired temporary tag in the wee hours Sunday when she was pulled over in Ocklawaha, according to an arrest report.

She claimed she thought her license was valid. However, the deputy who checked her record found numerous suspensions for failure to meet court financial obligations.

She was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. She was booked at the Marion County Jail on $500 bond.

Arias, who has a long criminal history, was arrested last year while riding in a stolen car in Summerfield. She was found to be in possession of drugs.
