A K-9 alerted on a pickup truck leading to the arrest of a woman on drug charges after a traffic stop in Oxford.
Mary Pate Wise, 40, of Ocala, was driving a white Chevrolet pickup at about 9 p.m. Sunday westbound on County Road 202 when she was pulled over for an inoperable taglight, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Wise was able to produce her driver’s license, but did not have her registration or insurance information.
A K-9 alerted on the pickup, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the truck turned up a floral wallet which contained a receipt which held a powdery substance which tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Wise was arrested on a felony charge of drug possession and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug equipment. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $5,500 bond.
