
William Roscoe Gamble, III of The Villages passed peacefully at 80 years old on Saturday April 13, 2024 with his family and loved ones at his side. He is survived by his five loving sons, William Gamble IV, Adam Gamble, Brian Gamble, Brent Gamble, Brandon Gamble, and his wife, Sharon Smith Gamble and dog Roscoe.
Bill Gamble was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 13, 1944. His family moved to Key West, where Bill graduated as a “conch” in 1963 from Key West High School. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force during Vietnam from 1963 to 1967, he completed his degree in Criminal Justice. He served for the Broward Sheriff’s office before accepting a job at the Department of Justice.
In the early 1980’s, Bill and family moved from south Florida to Fruitland Park, Florida for a more relaxed lifestyle and to raise his family and successfully ran his own retail store, The Love Shop, in the local malls. He relocated to the Villages in the 2000’s where he finished out his career as a Realtor and Property Manager in the Leesburg area until 2023.
He will be buried in Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave. Bushnell, Florida at 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 17, with a committal service with military honors from his branch of service, United States Air Force. All are welcome to attend to pay last respects.
