Ronald Eugene Huisman, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 23,2024.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, sons Mark and Scott, and daughter-in-law Auri. Ron was born in Franklin, Nebraska and raised by Jacob and Marie Huisman. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, Wayne State University, and he completed a two-year post-doctoral program of Neuropsychology at the University of Wisconsin Department of Neurology. After completing his studies, he established a private practice of 30 years in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
In 2007, after retirement, Ron and Sharon retired to The Villages, Florida. Ron was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church where he served as a member of the church choir, taught bible study classes, served in various church leadership roles, and served as a Certified Lay Servant Minister. Ron loved the church, his church family, and the many activities available at the Villages.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at New Covenant United Methodist Church in the Villages, Florida on June 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. For those that would like to attend, but are unable to do so, the service will be live streamed.
