Jimmy Ponder passed away on August 20, 2024. He was 71 years old. He was born in Asheville, NC in 1953 on January 7th.
He moved to Fruitland Park, FL with his family in 1962 and then to Wildwood, FL in 1968 where he attended Wildwood high school. Jimmy played high school football and in 1970 Wildwood Wild Cats won state champions.
He was a carpenter and handy man and always worked for himself. He liked to play his guitar with his friends and he was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins football team.
He is survived by his brother, Douglas Ponder and his nephews, Clint Ponder of Leesburg, FL and Robbie, Michael, Stephen, and Christian Birge of Vernon and Chipley, Florida.
