
Carl A. Antonelli, 95, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024. Born June 9, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Helen (Armillei) Antonelli.
Carl bravely served in the US Army during the Korean War and returned stateside to work for US Steel for many years before retiring to The Villages community in 2000.
In The Villages, Carl quickly became an active member of the community, particularly enjoying his time in the Village of Belle Aire. He embraced the vibrant lifestyle of The Villages, participating in various neighborhood activities and showcasing his passion for golf, where he proudly achieved three holes-in-one.
An esteemed member of the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Club and the Italian American Club of The Villages, Carl fostered many friendships throughout his life. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, love of country; family, his Italian heritage, and zest for life.
Carl is survived by his beloved sister, Ada (Antonelli) Labriola, and preceded in death by his brother- in-law Richard J. Labriola. He leaves behind cherished nieces Lorraine (James) Dwan and Dr. Donna (Dr. Robert Miggantz) Labriola, along with great-nieces and nephews Jenna (Jon) Block, Dr. James J. (Dr. Lara DeStefano) Dwan, and Dr. Sydney Miggantz. He also takes with him the joy of great-great-niece Mila Block and great-great-nephews Garrett Block, Elio and Hugo Dwan.
Carl’s kindness, laughter, and love for family and friends will be profoundly missed. A chapel service with military honors will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 718 Hazelwood Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
