Betty J. Hamilton, 89, of Summerfield, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her home.
Betty was born on May 7th, 1935, in New Salem, PA, the only daughter of Albert and Violet (Pinskey) Markiewich.
She was a graduate of Carmichaels High School. She married the love of her life at 21. Residing in Maryland until 1978, when they relocated to Summerfield, Florida. She enjoyed working at K-Mart in Belleview, volunteering at Munroe Regional Hospital and enjoyed many civil activities and pursuits with the South Marion Woman’s Club. She loved meeting with friends for bunco, bingo, playing cards, and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. Betty’s greatest passion was caring for her grandson, in which she became lovingly called Boopie.
Betty is survived by her children, Mark (Dianna) of Covington, VA and Kris Strouse (Doug) of Ocala and her grandson Donnie.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don, mother, Violet, and father, Albert,
brothers Albert Jr., Vince, Joe, and Walter.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran church on February 8th at 1 pm. Visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Home West Chapel on February 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at the clubhouse at Loch Harbour Condominiums on February 8, at 4 p.m.
