Larry Marion Dore of Pinellas Village in The Villages, FL passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 86. Larry was born on June 19, 1938 in Granite City, IL where he grew up.
Larry enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school for two years and then attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.
Larry worked in in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania and last worked for himself in Pennsylvania as a manufacturer’s sales representative until his retirement at the age of 76. Larry moved to The Villages, FL shortly thereafter to enjoy friends, family, sunny weather and plenty of golf.
In retirement, Larry pursued his passion for golf and the occasional fine cigar and Scotch with his close friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Eldred, his mother, Helen Winters, and his father, Albert Dore.
Larry is survived by ex-wife, Linda Dore (also of The Villages, FL) and their three sons and seven grandchildren. The sons are Lance (and Wendi) Dore and their two children, Carson and Foster Dore; Leonard (and Lynne) Dore and their three children, Daniel, Cara and Graham Dore; and Larry M. (and Debbie) Dore II and their two children, Mackenzie and Lindsey Dore.
The family would like to thank Larry’s close friends – Will and Valerie Kirchner and his neighbors – Mark and Mary Bennison for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
