The iSparkle scholarship is accepting applications from high school seniors anywhere in the U.S. that are related to members of the Villages Homeowners or communities.

The iSparkle scholarship was created by Petrina, an entertainer and singer in The Villages. The name stands for things you can “do and have done” to help others: inclusion, support, protect, act, respect, kindness and lift spirits encourage. Applicants are expected to have involved themselves in efforts to create atmospheres of inclusion for their peers and meet the values of iSparkle.

Applicants must make a three-to-four-minute video using as many of the letters of the iSparkle acronym to explain how they made a difference for their peers who experience bullying or exclusion in their school and/or community. Tell the outcome, and use examples of how, what and when.

Passion and speaking from the heart shine through and help decide a winner, as these are good skills to help with future interviews. Sometimes, more than one person can win, and earnings will be given out accordingly. First place will be awarded $4,000, second place $3,000, third place $2,000 and fourth place $1,000.

Send the video link to [email protected]. Use YouTube, Vimeo or other platforms. Make sure the link is unlisted or made public, and do not remove it until further notice. Also add the name and address details of the relative living in The Villages.
