Golf carts lined up Tuesday morning for adjustments at The Villages Golf Cars after a recall notice was issued.
At 8 a.m. there were about 30 golf carts lined up at Gordon’s Garage at Lake Sumter Landing.
The recall impacts 2016-2022 Yamaha golf carts. The accelerator pedal return springs are apparently faulty and require replacement.
Villager Doug White was among those who took his golf cart in for the repair.
“A very efficient operation. It took only five minutes after the wait in line. No reservation is needed,” White said.
A special tent has been set up to expedite the process.
Letters have been sent to owners of golf carts sold through The Villages Golf Cars. The recall repairs began last month and are continuing this month at locations at Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, Brownwood and Magnolia Plaza.
