Two men in a golf cart were arrested after illegally crossing State Road 44.
Tyler James Liccardi, 24, of Wildwood, and Christopher Michael Douglas Sands, 28, of Ocala, were in the white golf cart at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when they crossed State Road 44 at County Road 167, not far from the Village of Lake Deaton, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Golf carts are not allowed to cross State Road 44.

Liccardi, who has a history of criminal activity, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia. Sands was also in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Both men were taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
