Savannah Center will be going to the dogs on April 12 at 5:30 pm — with a little help from Motown.
It’s time for the “Paws for The Cause” Fur Ball. The Humane Society of Sumter County organized the fundraising gala, and the honorary chairman is Chief Randy Parmer of the Wildwood Police Department.

The event will feature dinner, dancing, and a salute to K-9s. A performance by Evolution Motown will top things off. Dress is”semi-formal/elegant attire; with Victorian Regalia encouraged, but not a must.” For information, call 352-355-8740. Or go to: go.yhsspca.org/Furball
Tickets are $100 each. Money raised, the Humane Society states, will be used for “programs such as the Hope Fund, Kibbles program, and the Spay/Neuter voucher program.
“Attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception and silent auction, dinner and a show, and a chance to mingle with fellow animal lovers.
“This year’s theme is Victorian Regalia, and guests are encouraged to dress to impress with their finest formal or semi-formal attire—add a touch of fun with long gloves, broaches, chokers, or hats.”
The event, according to the Humane Society, “promises a night of elegance and excitement that supports our goal to save animal lives in Sumter County.”
