
Frederick H. Weldon, of The Villages, Florida, died on April 24th, 2025 was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on January 30, 1935.
He was married to Ann Marie Sanchez (Weldon) on April 12th, 2013. Fred battled with Dementia for the last few years. He served in The United States Air Force. He was trained in electronics. Fred has seen it all, from the tragedy that unfolded with Apollo to Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon and to the safe return of three NASA ASTRONAUTS in Apollo 13 space capsule.
He watched Neil Armstrong climb down into lunar surface before it was broadcast around the world. Fred was employed by NASA for the entire Apollo Program. After NASA he had a 20 year career with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that took him to 18 countries on five continents. He loved talking about his experiences and traveling around the world. Fred was fascinated by many things scientific. He started The Science and technology Club. Fred was also involved with Toastmasters International Club in Ocala and Madrid, Spain. Loving what he liked, public speaking and several other clubs in The Villages.
Fred was pre deceased by his parents, Frank Weldon Jr. and Gail Strahan: brothers Richard S, William Frank and son Vance.
He survived by his wife Ann Marie Weldon: sons: Richard E., Fred Jr.,and Frank: his sister Rebecca Aalfs(Dan): stepdaughters: Raquel and Julia Sanchez. Grandchildren Elisa and Adrian. His great grandson Elian.
