A followup inspection was ordered after violations were found at a local barbecue restaurant.

An inspector paid a visit this past Thursday to the Oakwood Smokehouse & Grill and found two high priority violations at the restaurant on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake, according to a report on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The first high-priority violation was the discovery that the dishmachine’s chlorine sanitizer was not set at the minimum strength. The second high-priority violation involved floor cleaner that was found stored above napkins.

There were two intermediate violations noted when the inspector found that there were no paper towels at a handwash sink near an ice machine and no paper towels at a handwash station near the salad station cooler.

There were six basic violations, including an employee with no hair restraint engaging in food preparation, cases of pork stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer, to-go bags stored on the floor and an employee jacket stored on top of dry goods.
