A 270-home development is headed for Wildwood’s west side.
Boulder Square Subdivision would have 178 single-family homes and 92 attached homes between County Road 44A and West Clarke Street slightly more than a half mile west of Main Street (U.S. 301).
Special Magistrate Lindsay C.T. Holt recommended approval of a plat for the project at a meeting Tuesday of the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Committee. The City Commission may vote on the plat later this month.

Amenities are expected to include a community pool, a walking trail with exercise equipment and a picnic area.
Several ponds are located on the 84-acre site, which is heavily populated with oak trees.
The developer, PFD Twisted Sisters LLC, is requesting a waiver from a requirement to replace more than 2,000 oak and pine trees. Instead, the developer proposes to replace 1,586 trees and preserve 104 trees.
A site description by arborist Mary Edwards notes than many of the existing trees are overcrowded with poor growth due to a prevalence of volunteer trees. Downed and leaning trees, vines and a lack of lateral branching were found across the site. Fewer trees would allow more room for growth.
The developer has agreed to donate nearly four acres for an extension of County Road 209 from West Clarke Street to CR 44A, but is requesting a reduced buffer and fewer plantings along the right-of-way.
