A resident of The Villages with two drunk driving convictions in Michigan was arrested after he was found passed out in a golf cart.

Alexander Gregory Arcobello, 33, who lives with his parents in the Village of Dabney, is facing a felony charge of driving under the influence following his arrest this past Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

A witness said he found Arcobello in the golf cart and said he woke him up. He asked Arcobello if he’d been drinking. Acrobello replied, with a smile, and said, “Of course.” It was the witness who called 911.

An officer spotted Arcobello in a golf cart at Elkington Road and Meggison Road. The officer woke up Arcobello and asked for identification. Arcobello, who seemed to be “confused,” handed the officer a medical marijuana card. The golf cart was still switched on with the lights illuminated, the report noted.

Arcobello refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and would not provide a breath test. The officer conducted a criminal history check and found that Arcobello had been convicted of drunk driving in 2016 and 2018 in Michigan.

Due to the previous DUI convictions, he was arrested on a felony charge. Acrobello was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
