It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Frederick Eady, who left this world on May 14, 2025, at the age of 68 after a long-fought battle with cancer. Brian passed peacefully in his home in Florida, his beloved wife by his side, as their wedding song, “Endless Love,” played gently in the background.
Born on July 3, 1956, in Perth, Ontario, Brian was the cherished son of predeceased parents George Murray Eady and Theresa Jane Eady (McCormick). He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Isabel Jean Eady. The two were married on October 9, 1981, in Burlington, Ontario, and built a life full of love and laughter.
Brian was a devoted father to his three sons: Brian (Jenna), Jordan (Jamie), and Aaron (Kayla). He took immense pride in his role as “Grandpa” to Kaitlyn (Kiki), Hudson, Olivia, Elliott, Dean, Evan, and Emma, who brought him endless joy and light. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Susan Walker (Paul) and Edward Eady (Mary). Brian was predeceased by his brother Kevin (Joan).
A brilliant mind and a natural leader, Brian graduated from McMaster University, where he received degrees in Electrical Engineering, Management, and an MBA. He dedicated his entire professional career to General Motors. In 1997, Brian relocated his family from Canada to Michigan to chase opportunity and work on special projects that furthered GM’s success. He made significant contributions and was honored with the prestigious Boss Kettering Award—GM’s highest internal recognition for technical innovation and invention.
After a fulfilling career, Brian and Isabel retired in 2016 to Panama City Beach, Florida—a dream decades in the making, where they built the home they had always envisioned. In retirement, Brian embraced every moment: spending time with his family, doting on his grandchildren, traveling the world with Isabel, and engaging in his community.
Those who knew Brian will miss him for his fun loving spirit, his strong will, and the passion he showed for his family. A Celebration of Life will be held in Shelby Township, Michigan, where Brian and Isabel raised their children and made lasting memories over 20 years. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society, in honor of Brian’s enduring strength and spirit.
