
Joyce Griswold, 88, of The Villages, passed away peacefully, at Flagler Hospital in St Augustine, on May 21, 2025.
Joyce was born to Cranston and Ida Sandusky, in Lepanto, Arkansas. Her family migrated north to Michigan, where she met her husband Jack, as teenagers. (Jack passed in December of 2024).
They married in 1956 and went on to have 3 sons, Steve, Bruce and Ken. Joyce was a working mother as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant until Jack retired in 1993. Joyce retired soon after. In 1998, they moved into The Villages where they enjoyed golfing, bowling, cruising and Happy Hours with friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, sister Maxine and brothers Thomas, Sammy and Theodore.
She is survived by her brother David, and her sons Steve (Sandi), Bruce (Julie) and Ken (Doreen). She is further survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Beyers Funeral Home on Hwy 441 in Lady Lake. Joyce and Jack will then be interred together at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. This service will be delayed until December 5, 2025, to coincide with the anniversary of Jack’s passing that was on December 4th.
Joyce will be remembered as a kind person that always had a place at the table for you. She made sure that everyone felt welcome. She enjoyed family, friends and life, and she loved to tell about it.
