Janice LaVonne Young, 64, of Oxford, FL passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025. She was born October 5, 1960, in Ocala, FL to Egbert Hudgins and Arby “Lemons” Hudgins.
Janice cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, showering them with love and care. She found joy in the simple pleasures of nature, whether fishing, scalloping, or collecting sand dollars on the serene sandbars near her camp in Steinhatchee, FL. A talented baker, she filled her home with comforting aromas and delighted in tending to her lush collection of houseplants, especially her beautiful orchids.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James “Jimmy” Grant Young, Jr.; sons: Jacob (Rebecca) Albrecht and Jason Young; daughters: Joanna Garrett and Kristin (Wayne) Theis; aunts: Emma Hudgins; uncle, James (Gail) Hudgins; grandchildren: Addison and Emmett Garrett; Gina Renee and Courtney Theis; Stella Young and Elijah Albrecht; and many other loving family and friends.
There will be a viewing at Banks/Page-Theus Chapel 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL Friday, June 6th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service starting at 11:30 am.
Burial will take place at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, FL.
