A Summerfield woman was arrested after walking into a stranger’s home and giving false identification when questioned about it by a deputy.
A deputy responded to a trespasser, later identified as 37-year-old Kendra Ann Jones, at 2915 SE 140th Place at 2:25 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, he met with a woman who said that Jones had opened her front door and walked into her house without invitation. As soon as Jones came in, the victim confronted her. She was asking for a cigarette, but the resident demanded that she leave the residence. She did not know who Jones was and had never met her before, the report said.
The resident also provided Ring doorbell footage of the incident. It showed Jones walking up to the front door and immediately opening it. She did not knock on the door or make any announcements. The victim was then heard confronting Jones who eventually left the residence. The victim called law enforcement shortly after, the report said.
Jones was found walking on Southeast 35th Court southbound from Southeast 140th Place. The deputy made contact with her, and she stated her name was “Kendra Marcus” with a false birth date. While he tried to confirm her identity, she began walking away from the location, the report said.
The deputy caught up to Jones and told her she was not free to go since he was trying to confirm her identity for trespassing. She stated her name was “Kendra Martin” with the same false birth date. When the deputy asked her to confirm her identity a third time, she advised her last name was actually “Pearson,” the report said.
The deputy was unable to find Jones using the information given, so he used a fingerprint scanner. The results showed her real name and birth date. She stated “Pearson” was her married name, but she had never been identified as such. Her state-issued ID card had always reported her last name as “Jones,” the report said.
Jones was subsequently arrested on charges of trespass and false ID given to law enforcement officer. She was transported to Marion County Jail with bond set at $2,000.
She was also arrested in May for trespassing on the property of a former lover’s stepmother.
