A Summerfield woman was arrested when she fled on a scooter after allegedly knocking an elderly man’s glasses and headphones off his head.

A deputy responded to a battery in the 9600 block of SE 145th Place, Summerfield, around 5:50 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, he met with the male victim who advised that he got into an argument with 52-year-old Camille Maria Lester.

During the argument, Lester became upset and took the glasses off the victim’s head and threw them. This caused the right lens to fall out. She also took a pair of headphones off his head and threw them, the report said.

Lester struck the victim on the top of the head with a white sneaker, leaving a small scratch. During this struggle, they both fell to the floor, and she struck him on the arm, bruising it. She fled the residence on her scooter, the report said.

The deputy observed a small scratch on the top of the victim’s head on the right side. There was also a scratch mark on his right cheekbone and purple bruising on his lower left arm. The bruise was about 2 inches wide, the report said.

The witness, Lester’s brother who also lives at the residence, advised that he heard arguing in the living room and came to see what was happening. Lester and the victim were struggling over a set of headphones. He went back to his room to get his phone, and when he returned, the victim was on the ground with Lester standing over him. Lester then left the residence on her scooter, the report said.

The deputy did not make contact with Lester until the following day. She denied the allegations made against her, instead advising that she and the victim were arguing when he tripped over a couch in the living room. This caused his glasses to break and his headphones to fall from his head. The deputy asked how he got his injuries, to which she said he tended to bump into things and bruises quickly, the report said.

Lester was subsequently arrested on charge of battery on person 65 years of age or older. She was transported to Marion County Jail to be held without bond.

The West Virginia native was also arrested in Sept. 2020 when an elderly woman reported an attack, in July 2020 for an altercation at a Summerfield vape shop, and in June 2020 on drug charges after being spotted at an abandoned residence.
