A Wildwood woman was arrested for DUI after maneuvering her vehicle into a stranger’s backyard, falling asleep and urinating on herself.
Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of Barwick Street around 6:15 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The complainants stated that at about 6:05 a.m., they saw a silver Hyundai passenger vehicle with an occupant, later identified as 22-year-old Tyquashia Ti’Nara Williams, parked in their backyard with hazard lights and engine on.

The officers observed the vehicle at the south end of the property positioned near a woodpile. According to the complainants, the vehicle came in through the driveway, went between the residence and a screened-in pool, and struck several objects. The driver’s side fender hit an air conditioning unit and a pool filtration pump, while the passenger side fender struck a glass planter, the report said.
The vehicle continued through the yard, avoiding a tree and other structures, before coming to rest in its current spot. Williams sat in the driver’s seat, alone and asleep with the engine running, the report said.
An officer knocked on the windshield to get her attention, and she awoke on the second attempt. He then approached the driver’s side, opened the door and instructed her to remove the keys from the ignition. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and urine came from the vehicle in the process, the report said.
Williams had bloodshot and watery eyes as she spoke to the officers. When asked her location, she initially replied, “Mardi Gras,” before saying, “Cherry Lake.” This was about four to five miles away from the incident site, the report said.
Williams’ appearance led an officer to contact Sumter County Fire Rescue for a general checkup. While Sumter County EMS spoke to her, she urinated on herself. She also refused medical attention from medical staff on scene, the report said.
Meanwhile, an officer conducted a crash investigation, gathering information from Williams and the complainants. Property damage was estimated at $3,500 before professional evaluation. The officer also provided others on scene with the crash report driver exchange forms, as well as Williams’ license and registration, the report said.
After returning the documents to their respective owners and explaining the crash report to Williams, an officer told her a DUI investigation was underway. She was read her rights and refused to answer questions or perform field sobriety exercises. She later provided breath samples of .140 and .141 percent blood alcohol content, the report said.
Williams was arrested on a charge of DUI and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
