A landscaper was injured while working near a busy roadway in The Villages.

The Villages Public Safety Department responded at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to the entrance of Bridgeport at Laurel Valley on County Road 466 where the injured landscaper was taken away by stretcher.

Witnesses indicated that it appeared the landscaper was working along County Road 466 when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The injured landscaper works for Yellowstone Landscape, a large commercial company which has been a contractor for several years with The Villages Community Development District.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene of the accident.
