Tom, Of the Villages, Florida, age 78, passed away on September 17, 2024, while in hospice care. A small memorial for immediate family will take place the end of June. Internment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.

Thomas was born in Flint, Michigan. He resided in Flint, Grand Blanc, and Tawas City, Michigan before relocating to the Villages, Florida. He was a graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic High School and General Motors Institute. He was employed as an engineer by Michigan Bell/Ameritech/AT&T for 33 years.

Tom was active in the communities in which he lived. He served as an Ambassador for Junior Achievement, was a Loaned Executive for the United Way of Genesee County. He served as a Board of Director, as well as the Drive Chair for Tawas, Oscoda, and Whittemore United Way. Mr. McCulla was a founding Board Member of the Iosco County Community Foundation. He was an Officer and a Trustee of Flint Elks Lodge 222; and a member of the American Legion post 347 of Lady Lake and the Tawas Moose Lodge 2400.

Tom is survived by his wife Ruth McCulla, his two daughters Kristan Spaulding (Brad) of Linden, Michigan, and Shelly Loiselle (Tony) of Waterford, Michigan. His grandchildren Tyler, Zachary and Zoe Loiselle. His brother Michael McCulla (Mary) of Dublin, Ohio.
