John Joseph Vina of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Sunday June 8, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice in the Villages, Florida.
John was born in Racine, Wisconsin to Joseph and Betty Vina on November 21, 1946. He married Deborah on November 15, 2013, in The Villages. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Marines from 1964 to 1984 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3*, Vietnam Campaign Medal, M-14 Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, and Combat Action Ribbon. After retiring from military service, he worked for Seminole County Public Schools as the County Food Services Manager until he retired at the age of 62. His interests included the Green Bay Packers, any new technology, golf, tennis, and pickleball.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty Vina.
John is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Vina, his son Joseph Vina (spouse Katrina Vina) and his daughter Wendy Vina (spouse Drew Dinnen), his stepsons Donald, Kyle, and Andrew Morrison, and his grandchildren Noah, Parker, Emma, Kylie, Holly, and Brooklyn.
Memorials may be given to Cornerstone Hospice, to which John’s family wishes to extend their gratitude.
