
Shirley P. Wigner, 87, of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on August 28, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, and spent her early years in Newport (Monroe), Michigan.
She graduated from Monroe High School and later attended Eastern Michigan University, where she met and married her husband, Larry R. Wigner, on July 12 1958. She is survived by her husband Larry; her children Eric (Janet), Lauren Rucins, (Ronald); 2 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Shirley embraced being a consummate US Army officer’s wife and enjoyed the military life. She was an avid duplicate bridge player earning an ACBL Life Master award level. Shirley excelled at bowling earning many career awards. She was a strong member of the Lutheran Church. Shirley enjoyed The Villages lifestyle. She was a dedicated mother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love held by those who knew her best. She had a spirited personality and flared organizer. She will remembered for the unique mark she left on her family, years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and her joy of family. Shirley embraced life with energy and a heart full of love.
