An Ocklawaha man was arrested when he was found in a stolen vehicle with glass pipes and live ammunition as a convicted felon.
A deputy spotted 45-year-old Reginald Kenneth Jeffery in the driver’s seat of a stolen silver Ford F150 around 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was parked in Belleview, with the keys in the ignition.

Jeffery was detained, and a glass pipe was found on the front passenger seat. White residue on the pipe tested positive for methamphetamine. There was another glass pipe inside a case on the front passenger seat that had residue from a clear, crystalline substance. Deputies also discovered a zippered bag with numerous live, unspent bullets of different calibers in a compartment behind the driver’s seat, the report said.
A deputy read Jeffery his rights, and he agreed to talk. He advised that a woman gave him a ride there, and she left before law enforcement arrived. He only got into the driver’s seat to roll up the windows, the report said.
During later questioning, he stated he was untruthful and admitted to driving himself. But he did not know it was a stolen vehicle, nor did he steal it. Regarding the bullets, he knew about the bag but said it contained wires and tools. He stated he was unaware the bag had bullets, the report said.
Additionally, Jeffery is a convicted felon. His most recent conviction was on Feb. 9, 2023, in Marion County for possession of methamphetamine, the report said.
Jeffery was arrested on charges of grand theft of motor vehicle, possession of weapon or ammo by convicted felon, and drug paraphernalia (possess or use). He was transported to the Marion County Jail with bond set at $16,500.
