A former football player for The Villages High School has been arrested on a warrant charging him with sending threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrested 18-year-old Mikeen D’Shawn Harrison of Sumterville on Sunday and he was booked at the Marion County Jail.

On June 8, a deputy learned that Harrison was continuously texting threats to his ex-girlfriend, according to an arrest report.

The deputy responded to her residence to speak with her, and she explained that she dated Harrison, who played linebacker and tight end for the Buffalo. She tried to end the relationship with him on or about May 19, the report said.

On that day, Harrison sent his ex-girlfriend 54 texts without a response. One of these messages stated that if he were to see her, he would slap her. Most of these messages were sent in rapid succession, the report said.

After this incident, he contacted her to arrange to pick up his belongings. She responded to him but only to arrange the pickup of his stuff so she would never have to talk to him again. She told him that he could pick up items of his, but he continuously failed to do so, the report said.

On June 1, the ex-girlfriend went to the beach for the day and did not have her cellphone with her. During this time, Harrison called her 73 times without an answer. He continued to send her threatening texts, such as, “It’s okay, I’m on my way…with bad intentions,” and “I always know where you at.” He continued to text her regardless of her refusing to respond, the report said.

Harrison is currently being held without bond at Marion Coutny Jail.

Harrison told her that she “better call back,” or he would hurt her. He also said he would go to her house and sent her a screenshot of her place of employment from Apple Maps. At that point, she texted him back asking him to leave her alone. Prior to this, he had texted her 114 times, the report said.

He continued to tell her to go outside and then sent a photo of the inside of his car. He was seated in the driver’s seat with a message that stated, “…yea you dead.” On June 3, he texted her 55 times. She responded to get him to stop but was unsuccessful, the report said.

The ex-girlfriend had texted Harrison to stop contacting her on June 1, which he ignored. She feared that if he were to find her, he would cause her harm. He had already shown up to her work on June 6 and keyed the trunk of her car, the report said.

Harrison was ultimately arrested Sunday night on a warrant charging him with aggravated stalking (follow/harass/cyberstalk). He was initially booked without bond at the jail.
