A woman from Guatemala arrested for driving without a license told law enforcement she’s been living undocumented for seven years in the United States.

A deputy observed 29-year-old Rusilda Lopez-Vasquez of Bushnell speeding in a silver Toyota in the area of Belt Avenue and Southwest Second Way in Bushnell around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Radar showed her speed to be 44 miles per hour.

The deputy stopped Lopez-Vasquez and she admitted she does not have a driver’s license, nor had she ever been issued one. A driving history check confirmed she had never obtained a license, the report said

Prior to living in the U.S., Lopez-Vasquez resided in Guatemala. She had an ID card from there but could not produce one at the time of the traffic stop. She had lived in the U.S. for about seven years and had not obtained a Social Security card, driver’s license or other permits, the report said.

Lopez-Vasquez was subsequently arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $150 bond.
