An woman was arrested after a road rage incident in which she allegedly followed another driver to the hospital in The Villages and threatened her.

A deputy responded to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital to meet with the victim of a road rage incident around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The victim advised that while she drove to work, a silver Ford passenger car was tailgating her. She called emergency services to report the reckless behavior before pulling into the parking lot of the hospital. Williams got out of her vehicle and walked up to the victim’s open window to start a verbal argument, the report said.

During this, Williams intentionally put her hand inside the vehicle and threatened to beat her and make her “bleed.” The victim feared for her safety until Williams got back into her vehicle and drove away, the report said.

The deputy spoke to dispatch who confirmed the verbal argument happened. The dispatcher could hear Williams in the background blaring her horn prior to it and threatening to physically harm the victim during it, the report said.

Contact was made with Williams over the phone, and she agreed to talk in person. Her statement corroborated the victim’s story, the report said.

Williams was ultimately arrested Wednesday evening on charge of burglary with assault or battery. The Pennsylvania native was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center to be held without bond.
