Anne Shaw Fletcher, aged 88, of Webster, Florida, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12, 1936, in Cushman, Arkansas, Anne lived a life filled with love, dedication, and adventure.

Anne and her beloved husband Harry shared nearly 70 wonderful years of marriage, having wed on September 1, 1955. Their love story began when Harry met Anne while she was working for his cousin, a meeting that blossomed into a lifetime partnership. Together, they raised three cherished children: Corinne, Sunny, and Mark.

A devoted educator, Anne earned her Master’s Degree in Reading and devoted many years to teaching. She taught first grade for four years before transitioning to middle school, inspiring countless students until her retirement in the late 1990s. Anne’s passion for learning and helping others extended beyond the classroom as she served as a Girl Scout leader and after-school tutor.

Anne and Harry shared a love for travel that took them on many journeys across North America in their RV and beyond, exploring different countries before settling in Florida for their retirement.

Anne’s hobbies reflected her gentle and creative spirit. She was an avid bird watcher, talented in crocheting, quilting, and knitting, and loved immersing herself in novels. Her green thumb brought life to many plants, and she had a deep fondness for animals and classical music that enriched her days.

She is survived by her devoted husband Harry Fletcher; daughters Corinne Fletcher and Sunny (Ronald) Rutledge; son Mark (Nan) Fletcher; sister Marietta Thomas; brother Alpheus Shaw; and three grandchildren, Amy Rutledge, Michael Fletcher, and Matthew Fletcher. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary Shaw, and sisters Dorita Thome and Ellen Shaw.

In honor of Anne’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to your local library or a favorite charity of your choice.

Anne’s legacy of love, education, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

A special message from the family reads:

“We will miss you dearly, your love and kindness will remain in our hearts forever.”
