Peggy Gathy, 74, of the Village of Bonita and Bayville New York, passed away on August 3, 2025.
Peggy was born in Riverhead, New York, to Bob Fuchs and Pauline Gleason on March 28, 1951. She graduated from Good Council College (later Pace University) and married George Gathy on November 26, 1978. She taught in a Catholic elementary school in Riverhead New York and was adored by her toddlers at St. John’s pre-school in Lattingtown New York. She later worked for Consolidated Admiral Corp. Peggy enjoyed bowling, bunko, samba, golf, traveling the world and her wonderful grandchildren, among many other things.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob and twin sister Patricia, and is survived by her sister Marianne in addition to her immediate family. She was a loving wife to her husband George, an amazing mother to her son Michael and daughter Nancy, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Caroline, Joseph, Henry, Thomas and Emily.
A celebration of life will be held at the Hiers Baxley funeral home on Wedgewood Lane in the Villages, FL, on Thursday August 7th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
