An employee has been arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise while on break at her job at Walmart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.
Sharon Dennise Rodriguez Carrasquil, 45, of Ocala, was arrested this past Friday on five counts of theft.

The loss prevention team at Walmart had been tipped off to the fact that Rodriguez Carrasquil was taking merchandise and not paying for it while she was working at the store. She went to the self-checkout lane where she scanned and paid for some items, but not others, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The thefts took place on:
• July 15: She took a package of Lemon Zest priced at $3.94 and a 35-pack of bottled water priced at $6.98
• July 22: She took a 12-ounce can of Rape Olipop soda priced at $2.38
• July 23: She took a package of cashews priced at $4.74 and a package of chicken breasts priced at $11.32.
• July 24: She took a package of ground beef valued at $14.43
• July 25: She took a package of Cheetos Cheese Puffs valued at $2.38.
She was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $750 bond.
