Patricia A. Sullivan, 81, of The Villages, Florida—formerly of East Syracuse and Homer, New York—passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages.
Born on October 16, 1943, in Syracuse, NY, Pat was the daughter of the late Anna May (Haddock) and George F. Van Hoesen. She attended St. John the Baptist School and then married Timothy Sullivan.
Pat’s legacy lives on through her children: Kelly (Peter) Reppenhagen, Colleen (Bob) Gambitta, Mike Sullivan, Jim (John) Sullivan, and daughter-in-law Emily Sullivan. She was the proud and loving grandmother—known affectionately as “Bema”—to six grandchildren: Erin & Sara Reppenhagen, Valerosa & Brooklyn Gambitta, and Connor & Reece Sullivan. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Tom Sullivan, sister-in-law Diane Beyler, Cousin Lisa Simmons, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends including Luna & Dianna Beals, Phyllis Lachman, & Claudia Thornton.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband Timothy Sullivan, her son Timothy Sullivan, and her brother Jack Van Hoesen.
Throughout her life, Pat worked at Monarch Machine & Tool and Niagara Mohawk before retiring. She volunteered with the Red Cross, the Dynamic Dog Club of The Villages, and she participated with her church. She found joy in playing cards with friends, shopping, spending time with her dog, and most of all, being with her grandchildren. Her family extends gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cornerstone Hospice and Select Specialty Hospital of The Villages. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held in Syracuse, NY at a later date for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s name to Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages: donate.cshospice.org or to a charity of your choice.
