Lynn Mickovic

Lynn was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Dorothy Ann Kirchheimer (née Greener) and Herbert William Kirchheimer, and is sister to Nancy Kirchheimer Hollins.

Lynn went to Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. She had a Bachelor Degree in Art Education. After college she taught Art at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois.

Lynn’s love for her family was evident in everything she did. An avid horsewoman, she taught horseback riding and it was here that she met her first husband, James Robert Bernhard. They had 2 children, Elizabeth A Vecchio (John née: Bernhard) and William J Bernhard (Iris Crawford), and the family then moved to Moreland Hills, Ohio.

Lynn met Robert Mickovic in the mid-1970’s, and they were married for 48 years until her death. Robert has 4 sons. Rob Mickovic (Amy), Chris Mickovic (Christine), Paul Mickovic (Debbie), and Keith Mickovic (Katie).

Lynn has 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Josephine Vecchio Nawrocki (Brian), Erin Andro-Masetta (Andrew), Heather Andro, Ryan Andro, Mitchell Mickovic, Michael Mickovic (Hannah), Matthew Mickovic, Kristin Mickovic, Jack Mickovic, Tyler Kawa and Logan Kawa. Her great-grandchildren are Ayrton Nawrocki and Arianna Nawrocki.

Lynn retired from Orange City Schools, Orange, Ohio, where she worked as a librarian. Lynn then kept herself busy doing art projects and photography. When Robert retired, they decided to move to Florida in The Villages. There they enjoyed golf, music, and had many friends.

Lynn lived a whole and happy life, filled with love for her family and friends. She passed surrounded by their love.
