John Joseph Daly passed away at his home in The Villages, Florida on August 21, 2025 at 80 years old. John lived his life with honor, integrity and passion. He was a loving husband to his wife of nearly 60 years, Eileen (nee Krieger); a devoted father to his daughter Mary Caruso and her husband Chris, and to his son John Jr and his wife Carla; a doting grandfather to his beloved grandchildren Marisa and Christopher; and a loyal companion to his many family and friends throughout his cherished life.
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 where he proudly served in Vietnam. He and Eileen married before John began his successful 20 year career in the New York City Police Department (NYPD), retiring as a Detective in the same borough where he grew up. He then helped lead a successful security company in New York City before moving to The Villages permanently in 2017. He never walked by a fellow military veteran without stopping to thank them for their service to our nation.
John loved life and sharing its experiences with others. Whether it be playing cards, a round of golf, a board game, working out at the gym, or bowling, John would always make the experience fun for everyone with his warm smile and sense of humor. He had a passion for being the captain of his boat, the “Chrismissy”, on the Great South Bay and loved spending hot summer days at the Babylon Pool. John also loved vacations with his family, whether it be in the Poconos, at Williamsburg VA, in Europe, on a cruise, or even in neighboring towns, he was always excited to visit new places.
While John will be missed by all who loved and knew him, his family takes comfort in knowing that he is re-united with his mom Teresa, his dad John, his sisters Catherine, Lanny, and Carol, and his brother Danny in the embracing arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation for John will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home 134 N. Highway 441 Lady Lake, FL.
