Samantha Houchin, age 87, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on August 13, 2025 in The Villages, Florida.
Sammy was born on January 21, 1938 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She married Harold Eugene (Gene) Houchin in 1955. The family moved to Naples Florida in1961 where Sam was a homemaker and worked many years for United Telephone Company. For many years she was a member of First Baptist Church of Naples, and later First Baptist Church of Oxford, Florida. After retirement in 2003 she and her husband moved to The Villages, Florida to live near her sisters and her daughters. Sam enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing cards and dominos. She particularly enjoyed playing poker.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene, and sister Nancy (Joey) Rife. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Tudy) Cooper, her son Bob (Tammy) Houchin, daughter Terri (Larry) Noe and daughter Kim Hunter. She is survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
