Bettie Joyce Lee-Boehm, age 86, passes away peacefully on July 30, 2025, with her beloved husband Horst at her home. Born on August 14, 1938, to the late James and Golda Lee in Detroit, Michigan, Bettie Joyce was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her warm heart, unwavering strength, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

A devoted wife to her beloved husband Horst. She is survived by a brother Jim Lee, a nephew Jim Jr., and nieces Pam and Joann. Bettie was also cherished bonus mom to Crystal McCoy, and a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren (Kaylynn, Austin & Jayden) and great-grandson (Kreed), Bettie Joyce’s family was the center of her world. Her love for her many cats was a testament to her compassionate nature and nurturing spirit.

Bettie Joyce was a talented seamstress and quilter, pouring her creativity and passion into every stitch she made. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved, offering unwavering support, encouragement, and a listening ear to all who sought her guidance.

A celebration of Bettie Joyce’s life will be held on September 5, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Big Cypress Rec Center in The Villages, where friends and family will come together to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Sumter County, a cause close to Bettie Joyce’s heart.
